Pops always told me to stand on my own two feet. Gain control of
your life so you can do what you want to do. Awake, hit the ground running, don't
let time pass because it’s always coming. Many laugh, but really nothing's
funny.
As I stand and gaze out this window I can feel the pain. Tear trail hid behind the rain, glad the world can't feel my strain so I let it drain.
Back straight, eyes front, feet firm, I'm focused, I can
only go forward. Can't rewind life, reminded bout my past when I go to sleep,
running from my dreams, it seems the devil creeps at night.
In for a fight but here I stand, the man of my domain but if
the load get any heavier I'm gone need a helping hand, back against the wall
and I'm just trying not to fall, leave me right here because I'm giving my all,
coming out swinging and this isn’t a friendly game of baseball.
Wasting time was never in the agenda, but it seemed to be
right on schedule, things happen for a reason and people come and go by the
seasons, I was put here to tell you.
All in with my chips and there is no set poker face, just
running my race by his amazing grace, bow my head bless my family and then I
escape. Just waiting on my time to come and I pray it's not too late. Looking
to the heavens hoping God save me a plate, line long outside the gates but it's
straight, because here I stand.
